Here at Detail Collective we get very excited when presented with new fabric launches - and the latest one from Mulberry is no exception!
With the onset of the Antipodean autumn, this couldn't have come at a better time. The latest collection - entitled Bohemian Romance - uses moody, jewel-like colour hues peppered with vibrant bursts of accent colours on a rich variety of fabric types.
The collection ranges from stunning silky-soft Velvets, sensual Chenilles, soft Scottish Lambswool to richly embroidered Linen mixes providing plenty to play around with and be inspired!
Mulberry was established in 1971 creating leather fashion accessories and has grown into an English luxury brand 'inspired by the cool of the city and the craft of the countryside'. Mulberry Home was launched twenty years later giving us a chance to give our interiors the same very idiosyncratic Mulberry look as well!
The latest collection launched in the U.K to some serious aplomb - late last year winning the Best Fabric Collection for 2014 in the prestigious H & G (Homes & Gardens) fabric awards.
Having seen the range up close and personal this week, the images below hopefully help to show you the quality and amazing detail in these designs.
In addition to the award for Best Collection, the above quilted-look fabric (Bohemian Paisley) won Best Woven Fabric of the year with a judge commenting; “there is something so unique and innovative about this fabric. I’ve never seen anything like it.” For an accent piece this fabric is really something special!
The Collection has an eclectic edge that lends itself to a layered aesthetic for both traditional and modern interiors - just take a look at that contemporary sofa with steel frame above upholstered in the 'oriental carpet' velvet - an unlikely pairing which works beautifully!
The collection includes stunning tartan velvet and wool plaids which we are just dying to coordinate with beautiful buttery soft aniline leather upholstery!
Distributed in Australia by fabric house Elliott Clarke we had a chance to see it for ourselves this week and can't wait to introduce it to our clients. We just need the right project to come along, so don't hesitate to contact us if you are as inspired as us to give a bit of Mulberry magic to your home!
