We came across the Milo Lamp via Design Milk and thought it was definitely the type of product we wanted you all to know about. We love a bit of clever design and especially when it serves not just one purpose but two! This is the product that isn't sure whether it is just a lamp OR a miniature greenhouse!
The Milo Lamp is hot off the press, it only officially became available yesterday Thursday 31 July by the talented team at Lightovo, a Polish lighting studio - who declare very simply on their website that they are "People who enjoy making Light"!
The lamp is designed for indoor use, with a large gap in it's side enabling it to house a small to medium potted plant. The light works on two levels - both to highlight the plant but also to recreate the 'daylight' that plants need to grow. As the lamp is powered by an LED bulb (this is not a heat-generating light) it will not scorch the plant inside, as well as being the closest artificial light to daylight.
The Milo is made of maple wood, powder coated aluminium and the glass is moulded by hand in Poland. Check out their website here for more information and recommended plants to complete the look! We think it is an inspired solution to providing both light and healthy plants in our interiors!
