Welcome to Orchard Keepers, the perfect holiday retreat for a large family or group on The Mornington Peninsula, Victoria Australia. Perfect not just because of the stunning interiors, kitchen garden and vistas, but also because it is literally just down the road from one of the best wineries in the region!
Orchard Keepers was originally 3 individual cottages dating from 1890 which have been transformed into a four bedroomed house and separate worker's cottage, available for holiday rental nestled in ten acres and surrounded by some of the best country and vineyards in the area. A great base to explore the Peninsula for both the wineries and the ocean.
We love the way the owners have brought the property smack bang up to date with the finishes they have chosen and still retain the character of the house's origins.
Classic white panelled walls and timber floors provide the foundation for showing off the beauty of natural materials and objects collected from diverse sources - mixing antiques with industrial lighting, soft linen with aged timber furniture and concrete surfaces with individual ceramic pieces.
The bathroom below is a lesson in how the ubiquitous white subway tile can be the perfect accompaniment to highlight carefully chosen accessories - the basin, floor tiles, wooden stool/mirror etc.
The holiday vibe continues outside with the charming outside bathroom, and a choice of not one, but two kitchen gardens to explore and utilise while you are staying.
The serene interior colour palette and mix of natural textures combined with the stunning location is making us feel like we are on holiday already!
We live a bit too close to here to be able to justify a stay, but where-ever you are we hope this gives you the inspiration to create a relaxed interior at your home and an excuse to bookmark this post for the next time you are looking for a get-away on the Peninsula!
