We were fortunate to be invited to attend the Haymes Colour Forecast Launch this week, where they presented the key colour trends for 2015 based on trend-forecasting sources such as Masion Objet Paris, Future Lab and Stylesight. A bonus was the guest speaker and Interior Designer Dana Tomic Hughes from Yellowtrace (influential blogger and design guru who we love - check her work out here).
Haymes has identified five key themes and presented these with exceptional styling and strong imagery which really helps to demonstrate the impact of these colour palattes.
The drive behind the key trends is a sense that "today more than ever, we are eager to re-connect with the world around us, taking in our natural surroundings and giving back where we can".
This can be seen within the colour palette of Rythmic Palms with it's jungle-like motifs, scaled up and saturated colours, and also as a contrast within in Exotic Botanic with a more mineral, earthy and opulent range.
The next couple of themes shift towards a softer colour palette. Raw is derived from the simple beauty from the raw materials found in nature and eliciting a serene and ethereal atmosphere "forming the perfect base for any interior styling".
New Skin touches on that understated relaxed style and comfort that one feels from pulling on a favourite pair of jeans - "a feeling of a second skin" and perfect for creating that sanctuary at home.
Conversely, Relaxed Replay offers a nostalgic joy with a bright colour palette that really packs a punch. Inspired by the vibrancy of Miami Beach and the joy of saturated colour from the luminosity of a sun drenched beach, the depth of a bright blue sky or the intensity of a hot pink wall - this is the collection for those that crave a confident colour in their homes.
We are impressed and can't wait to incorporate some of these in our projects!
Which look do you prefer? We're finding it hard to choose between the Rythmic Palms or Exotic Botanic.....
