The Gertrude Street Projection Festival (GSPF) is in it's seventh year of holding this impressive free large scale arts festival. This inspiring event would not be possible without the Gertrude Association bringing together a collaboration of artists, traders, residents and community groups. This years festival theme is 'Transience'. The festival artists look at 'ever-changing places, spaces and people for their inspiration'.
It is truly inspiring to see the familiar spaces and buildings transform into works of art for all to enjoy. The festival runs over 10 evenings from July 18 through to July 27th from 6pm till Midnight. There are over 30 sites for you to view along the stretch of Gertrude Street in Fitzroy. For a full program and more information you can head to the GSPF website.
If any of you are around Melbourne this week, it is definitely worth a trip down to Gertrude Street to check this festival out! I had the pleasure of visiting with my family on Saturday night and was thoroughly inspired and excited to call this gorgeous city home. One installation in particular that did get my attention was Site 17, you will have to go down and check it out for yourself, I don't want to give everything away on the blog today. Rug up and enjoy the show, we would love to hear if any stand out for you.
