From the front of this lovely house in Melbourne it would seem it is your typical Victorian style home, blending in with all the other surrounding Victorian homes. However take a step inside and you are pleasantly surprised with the Exotic Moroccan inspired Interiors of Giovanni Mangano and Tory Flanigan's home.
There is a great balance between the modern furniture and older pieces sourced. They work so well together marrying the new with the old. The white walls are a great neutral back drop to the ornately carved dark timbers and greenery. The stunning carved doorway is from Rajasthan, the PP Møbler ‘Flag Halyard’ chair from Cult, and the sofa and rug from Space.
The amazing white chandeliers are souvenirs brought back from Morocco and have been made into these feature lights by the couples friend and artist Suzie Stanford. I especially love this cleverly placed mirror behind the dining table, giving the illusion of another beautifully framed doorway.
The white walls and dark heavy timber is carried out to the exterior of the house providing continuity from interiors. A little oasis has been created outside again adding exotic looking doors and pots adding character and charm to this beautiful home. How nice it is to come home and feel that you are a world away.
