It is SO refreshing to take a peep into someone's home where it is truly a reflection on who actually lives there, and not one of the blank-canvas-style interiors that we see far too often these days!
Introducing the New Orleans home of artist Miranda Lake, a retreat where she has unmistakably made her mark, creating vignettes in a similar style to how she creates her art, and incorporating animals, flora and fauna set off with a rich, jewel-like colour palette.
Much of the pieces are second-hand, sourced from Ebay, Esty and vintage stores. It is the way that Miranda has curated these that of course gives the home such a strong character. For example, take a look at the rusty bright yellow cash register above which just looks like it belongs here and suddenly becomes a focal point or, the vignette below that demands your attention because of the juxtaposition of it's individual parts!
There is no doubt that this home provides interest and sparks your curiosity at every turn - can we say the same about our own homes?
We hope that you take courage from seeing this very personal space, to revel in your individuality, and not be afraid of putting it out there - to ensure that when you are decorating, collecting and displaying - it is just for you and your family's benefit and not because you are trying to create an impression for the benefit of others.
Finally - we defy you not to be charmed by the very novel pool-side double decker bus (which Miranda describes as "one big giant shiny happy pill you can actually get inside of") and is without doubt, one of the most unique pool-cabanas we have ever come across!
